I know someone before mentioned a glitch with winnables where it switches to reg/ streak of the variant sometimes after a game, but this happens to me a lot even with frequent checking, and the top box always says “8x3W” ..so is there any way to be sure it hasn’t switched besides just checking the scores on this thread or near my name repeatedly?

I just won 8 in a row while checking the top box on each to make sure it was winnable, only to check the scores here a min ago and see my name wasn’t on the score list at all. Apparently the first few I played, some which I lost, was before midnight, and all the others had switched over to streak before I started winning them. Blaurgh. Just checking because this happens to me every competition at least once, usually when I’ve played several or think I’m leading lol

I may have figured out another solution also—I think if I can remember to select 8x3W on the drop-down menu each time, as in before each play, instead of just clicking “play” to continue after each completed game, I think it should stay on winnables.

Not sure tho so I’ll try your tip too, as I have bad luck with the switching.

Yes, just confirmed. You should see "Winnable" down in the bottom right corner. At least to my knowledge, that particular indicator is always correct. We shouldn't have to look for that, as for the first several years here, I didn't even know it was there. But apparently, that's the only fool-proof way to know.

Yep, dangitt. Happened again. And I was clicking the 8x3W for sure, but may not have on the one game it switched over. Also seems to happen more on losses or if I have to get up for a min. Had just left a game sitting for 5 mins and to take my dog out, but had no problems before then.

Yes, the thinking *used to* be that timing out would cause it, which it very often does. But it certainly can happen easier than that, with less time than that, and it's happened to me once or twice with pure, uninterrupted play. Switching variants, and then switching back is an often culprit. To have it happen with normal continuous play is very rare, but it *has* happened.

Very often, it'll happen by leaving a game hanging, then come back whenever, and then finish that game - no problem. But then the very next game it'll switch back to regular.

Oddly, it happens to me mostly with pure uninterrupted play. I’m rarely idle tho while playing, but when I am I almost expect it. So if that doesn’t makes sense : most of the time I’ll be playing uninterrupted and it seems like either a loss or maybe also sometimes rlly fast play and then like one slower game triggers it? Yet when I’m idle, and it times out, it does it often enough for me to expect it. I’m just not idle as much anymore while playing.

Idk tho haven’t kept notes. But when my animals are hounding me it seems to happen more, so I wonder if a slightly slower game with many fast one triggers it as much as those times when I have to get up for a few mins. Also a loss sometimes does it. I don’t generally switch variants during competitions tho. Just zone out on the one variant.

In any case, I see what you’re saying abt bottom corner.. That should do it! Thanks so much! I would’ve completely missed that! And my earlier fix, to reclick variant each time, while it worked for a while, wasn’t totally fail safe apparently. Kudos

Ps- my previously feral kitty is coming up nicely btw. Prob abt 8-10 months old now, tho hard to say. She never had babies, so idk what all that was abt, but thank the heavens!! And tho she loves cuddles &pets, she till gets spooked after too much of it so often gives me a swat after a bit, which is confusing but should pass. Luckilu this week she seems to have decided to chill out on hand scratching/ biting. Other than that, you’d never guess she wasn’t indoors all her life.

She even gets along with my sr dog, tho she creeps her out a bit when she tries to play hardcore. My gal is old but very smart so at first she found kitty amusing and was honored when I told her the cat loved her. Now she looks at me desperately when kitty tries to play, so generally while I’m playing this I’m often also batting some toy around half heartedly to distract cat from her attempts to wallow all over my dog.

Wouldn’t be all that surprised if the chaos just stresses out the FC server as much as it does me.

Haha srry Denny! My stressy environs glitch up your system! My dog must’ve learned telepathy just to communicate with your server and get my attention (wouldn’t put it past her).

should’ve realized before, lol. But yea TN, happens a lot. Thought it happened to everyone often til you said once it seems to do it to me a lot. I play in incognito usually so wouldn’t be shocked if that has something to do with it. If I leave FC site up for 10 mins, no active game, to get a snack and come back, I’m usually signed out, so could be that.

Actually not so good at multitasking with FC. Must mute tv and all that. Can’t hold a conversation. Have to focus up fully or I bomb. Just don’t count animal stuff as multitasking now due to fact it’s nearly always happening. I don’t have THAT many pets (3dogs 1 cat) just very needy ones.

My 16yr old dog is my kid so she’s just always on. After her hip injury it’s just life. Not complaining- she has elevated kidney levels rn &getting IV fluids all week so I’m rlly happy she keeps going. But theres def a part of me always begging to get through a movie or meal uninterrupted. +Now this young cat thinks I’m her birth mom. Chews me out if I leave a room. ..So yea, lol. Had to adapt.

incognito mode times out sooner maybe? Like if I’m signed into an account and leave a bit or go to an app, it signs me out relatively soon for safety. Idk for sure that’d affect it but possible. Could be 20 mins idk but not much more.
