They are the same.

The odds of being dealt a winnable 8x0 is close to 1 in 50. The chances of being dealt two consecutively when starting from scratch is 1 in 2500. But, given that your streak is already 1, you still have a 1 in 50 chance of getting a winnable game dealt to you.

This logic follows no matter what the existing streak is.

The server has been flaky over the past day or so, at least for me. Sometimes I've had to start a game again. So playing 8x0 is probably not a good idea if you strike a winnable and run into server problems. Fortunately when it happened this time *after* I'd already won the game I was returned to a position where I could remember what to do! This was a particularly interesting game where I had to send the Jack of clubs home and in the process close all columns after having three open.

In other 8-sum news, JackStraw has been having some success in 7x1s lately, and has a win in all of the 8-sums except 4x4 this year so far, which I'm sure he will definitely, probably, be tackling soon, eh?

It took me 502 games to get my next 8x0 win, an unwanted PR. I blew several winnables along the way before being dealt another three in 25 games and finally bagging the third.

Managed to clear a column on three consecutive 8x0 games; 5798, 24935 and 27508. None were winnable but got a fair way with the last two.

I tried the above game by Uberman but could not work out how to clear a third column. Now 0/14.
