ix said that I found 11X5 21159-10, but it was really Catailong2 who found it. I was the one who took a screen shot just before the last move for game-10X2-5248-10. :-)

There's at least one game (a 13x0 maybe -1 or -2) that auto-finishes as soon as you start it. I can't find the thread I posted about it. :(

Thanks Punster! I was just re-running some of my old scripts and, interestingly, it does not find that game. I'll have to try to figure out why. :)

I searched many different key words, but found it when I finally searched for easy. Notice the title at the top shown in the link "easy 13X0 game" from previous post.

In trying to determine what is meant by a 52 card flourish, I played the easy 13x0 game noted above. It was like the day the cards dealt themselves - BUT it wins itself as soon as it is dealt. So how come it shows a less than 100% win rate?? Seems as if it would be impossible to LOSE, yet according to the stats, many have. Any explanations? And is that what is meant by a "flourish"??

That question is asked from time to time. The self winning game was not something Denny had originally programmed for and therefore it was considered a "loss" because no moves had been made. When this was pointed out he fixed it.

Flourish - my dictionary has many explanations but none which describe what we are talking about here. I liken it to a flock of seagulls which have been disturbed, but without the noise!

The flourish being able to set up all the cards to go up at the very end, by organizing the cards in the columns before any cards are taken up automatically. This is different from the automatic win, where the cards do that at the beginning, without any help from the player.

I played the 11X2 1733-5 again and was able to setup the flourish, but I was not able to post the picture, just before the last move. Not sure why.

Come to think of it, I haven't been able to post any pictures since I got my Window 7 computer over a year & a half. When I click on the "Browse" button to point to the folder on my computer, it comes up blank. Any suggestions. Not sure if any of my settings are blocking it ?

I was able to do 10x4 8008-5. Not sure if it can be done with less freecells.

I wrote a little script to find potential "flourishable" games. It does a pretty good job of weeding out games but some still slip by. I don't think it misses any flourishable games. If you want to know what it finds for any specific width/difficulty, let me know.
Here's what it output for 10x -5:

Not 52 cards but was just setting it up nicely (26 moves) when suddenly it was gone! Probably 35-40 cards just flew home.
